81 baptized in African Metropolis of Kananga

August 12, 2019 By Fr. John Leave a Comment

The mystery of baptism was performed in the village of Chinshui by Metropolitan Theodosius of Kananga, accompanied by clergymen of the Metropolis.

This parish has at least three hundred faithful, and on this day of Baptism another eighty-one people came to Baptism in Orthodoxy.

The Bishop, the clergy and all the newly baptized, walked for half an hour until they reached a small river in order to complete the sacred sacrament.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to build platforms to facilitate the Mystery, so everyone went into the muddy waters to baptize the people.

At the end of the Mystery, Metropolitan of Kananga referred to the importance of the day for their village while conveying to all the wishes and love of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria, who continuously supports from the depths of his heart every part of the African Continent.

Father Emmanuel stayed in the village to officiate the Divine Liturgy the next day so that the faithful congregation could receive the holy communion.
