I’ve read Fr. Reardon’s chapter from his new book, “Reclaiming the Atonement,” about Anselm of Canterbury’s theory of satisfaction, and how this concept is (was) foreign to the Orthodox understanding of the divine reason behind the incarnation. Needless to say, it is an excellent book, and I can’t wait to buy it!
