The Archdiocese of Northern Madagascar has built a massive new complex housing a church, spiritual center, schools of all levels, an orphanage, and an old folks’ home in the capital city of Antananarivo.

Earlier this week, the complex’s modern technical training school, known as the Platony Academy, was officially inaugurated by Metropolitan Ignatios of Northern Madagascar of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, reports Bishop Nicolas of Ermoupolis.

The entire complex sits on a 10-acre plot of land. The two-story orphanage currently houses 50 girls, but is equipped to take up to 280.

The Academy was inaugurated on Monday, August 29.

As an old lay missionary in Madagascar – 1968-1976 – I am glad of the good work you church is doing.
    God bless you all.
