Dormition in Sargodha, Pakistan

This Feast has become a very popular tradition in the parish of St. Sergius Orthodox Church Sargodha, Pakistan for last 3 years!

With the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church outside Russia in Pakistan, on Sunday August 27, 2017, the solemn celebration opened with the procession followed by the festive Divine Liturgy. On this feast with the blessings of Vladyka Hilarion ruling bishop of Pakistan, Father Joseph and parishioners of Saint Sergius Orthodox Church Sargodha, cordially invited Father Paul, Graduate from Tomsk Theological Seminary, and a priest of Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) to concelebrate the Divine Liturgy with Father Joseph.

The Feast of Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God has become very popular tradition of Saint Sergius Orthodox Church Sargodha for last 3 years we are celebrating this feast with big procession and large gathering of faithful and catechumens. This time with Divine blessings and protection of our Heavenly Father, 350 faithful participated to witness the great feast day and it really add joy and blessing to our people and they will have a good chance to share joy and peace with each other. Glory to Jesus, a large number of faithful attended the Divine Liturgy with fasting and got chance for holy confession and took the Holy Communion.

After the Divine Liturgy Fr. Joseph Farooq preached the orthodox faithful about Dormition Fasting and comprehensively about the Earthly Life of the Most Holy Theotokos.

At the people were given time and they were instructed to ask for the help from the Most Holy Mother of God for their problems, any family sickness and sufferings because we all are saved through the powerful intercessions of the Most Holy Mother of God!! With honour and true devotion faithful kiss the Ikon of the Mother of God!
