62 Churches Built in Moscow in 8 years

The curator of the church building program in Moscow, the “Program for the Construction of Orthodox Churches of Moscow,” also known as the “200 Program,” State Duma Deputy Vladimir Resin, has announced that 62 church complexes were built in the capital over the past eight years, reports Interfax-Religion. “In all, over the past eight years, 62 church complexes have been erected in Moscow (45 as part of the program and 17 outside of it),” Resin said on Thursday at the XXVI International Nativity Readings, noting that 38 of the churches are already in use. 24 churches were opened in Moscow in 2017 alone. This just in! A group of Catholics in Argentine decide to convert in Orthodoxy after Patriarch Kirill’s sermon. A collective of the Caritas charitable organization in Argentinian Curuzu decided to adopt Orthodoxy as they were deeply impressed by Patriarch Kirill's sermon during his tour to Latin America this February. “During the patriarch’s visit he (a Caritas official from Curuzu) watched the translation from Asuncion. Former Jesuit professor and Vatican advisor converts to Orthodoxy.Rector of the High Monastery of St. Peter in Moscow Hegumen Peter (Yeremeyev) headed the ceremony of taking monastic vows of priest Constantine Simon.He adopted Orthodoxy in 2014, after 34 years of priestly ministry in the Roman Catholic Church.
