Photo: pravoslavie.ru The zeal of Filipino Orthodox was seen at Pascha this year, as the community of St. Vincent of Lerins on the island of Mindanao celebrated the bright Resurrection of Christ in a church they had built with their own hands in just three weeks. The holy Paschal services were celebrated in the community by the cleric of the Petrozavodsk and Karelia Diocese Fr. Stanislav Rasputin in the village of Salasan with the blessing of Archbishop Sergius of Solnechnogorsk, the administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate parishes in Eastern and Southeastern Asia. Fr. Church to be Built in Siberian Cradle of Orthodoxy Where Mass Baptism of 120 Recently Celebrated

Yessey, the northernmost village of the Evenkia District in Krasnoyarsk Krai, 2,140 miles northwest of Moscow, was traditionally known as the “cradle of Orthodoxy” among the indigenous peoples of the north, after local Yakuts and Evenks adopted Orthodoxy in 1852. One of the first churches in Evenkia was built in Essey, although it ceased functioning with the advent of soviet power. The village has remained churchless for the past several decades, although faith has remained alive in the hearts of many Yakuts. Chinese Orthodox Receive State Approval to Prepare for Ministry in Russian Seminaries

Orthodox students from the People’s Republic of China can now begin to prepare for their future ministries in China in the theological schools of the Russian Orthodox Church. Agreement on the issue came as a result of the sixth session of the Russian-Chinese working group on contacts and cooperation in the religious sphere held in Beijing on Thursday, the Vice Chairman of the Department of External Church Affairs (DECR) of the Russian Orthodox Church Archpriest Nikolai Balashov toldRIA-Novosti. 33 Children Baptized Need Sponsors

Mass Baptism organized for this Sunday 18th February by Fr Constantinos Eliud Muthiru for 33 Children- 16 boys and 17 girls! Fr Constantinos is humbly seeking any willing Orthodox person who would like to act as a Sponsor/ Godparent to one of these children and help to welcome them into our faith. This also would allow for an ongoing relationship with that child and am opportunity to share of yourself and be part of this Children’s Ministry at Saint Irene’s Mission Kenya.
