I’m Jamaican and didn’t know that Bob Marley converted to Christianity. I doubt there is some grand conspiracy to cover it up though but anything is possible. Rastafarians are a minority in Jamaica. The majority are Christians (Protestant) and only a few are aware of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church’s presence. Generally, when Jamaicans hear Rastas speaking about Ethiopia we tune them out because we assume it’s regarding Rastafarianism. They are free to practice their faith but we aren’t particularly interested in it for ourselves. Unless, they referred to themselves clearly as Christian we wouldn’t pay them much attention except for their music.

Nice site btw. I came here while searching for information regarding converting from the Baptist faith to Anglicanism, which is the closest I’ll get to a catholic church because I find many of Rome’s teachings too difficult to swallow.

That’s amazing! I’ve been an ardent Bob Marley fan for my whole life, never knowing he became a Christian. It’s great to know that he’s Jammin’ in heaven right now, “Jammin’ in the name of the LORD!”
